Main Hotel Building

  • Located adjacent to the Beach, which can be accessed by way of a slope or steps.
  • Own car park with drop off at front door.
  • If notification is given on booking that a car space at the front of the hotel is required, it will be reserved.
  • 3 steps to reception entrance.
  • Slope to entrance into reception.
  • Porterage available to all rooms.
  • Ground floor level throughout, but there is one step down from cocktail bar to sun lounge.
  • Accessible toilets for both men & women.
  • Baby changing unit available in disabled toilet.
  • Accessible disabled toilet available in entrance to ladies, with transfer space and wide door.
  • There are 3 ground floor rooms in annexe, slope to this entrance with no steps, one of which (room 39) has widened doorways to enable wheelchair access.  The room is spacious enough to allow transfer to beds, wc, and bath.
  • All corridors are well lit.
  • Access to first floor bedroom accommodation in main hotel is by way of a staircase with 16 steps, with a half landing after 8 steps.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • Night Porter is on duty from 19.00hrs to 07.00hrs.
  • Menus can be read to our guests.
  • Staff undergoing Disability awareness training.
  • Access from car park to Inn is by way of 5 steps, or a slope via reception in Hotel.

Penrhos Centre

The building comprises of a two storey extension to the hotel, linked via service and access corridor, containing:

  • Conference / Banqueting rooms on both ground and first floor
  • Food preparation / beer storage areas
  • Toilets accessed from link corridor
  • 8 person / disabled lift
  • Car parking is available adjacent to the new building.  Two spaces will be clearly marked for use by disabled visitors only
  • The car park adjacent to the new building is surfaced to allow a level entrance approach to the entrance (ie maximum ramped gradient 1:20)
  • Doors include self closing mechanisms : a bell push is located adjacent to all entrances for use by the public and signed as follows : "If you require assistance please ring the bell"
  • Staff training will cover the procedure for assistance in this event
  • External public paved areas include tarmac and concrete setts, there are no steps
  • An internal ramp is situated within the link corridor, with minimum falls as feasible, and includes wall handrails
  • An eight-person KONE Arena Monospace lift is fitted to allow access to the first floor facilities for disabled visitors.  This is an eight person lift designed for wheelchair access and to be DDA compliant
  • The stair steps to the first floor number twelve to the half landing and then a further twelve to the top landing.  There are handrails on either side of the staircase for support.
  • Bar staff, having identified guests who may need assistance in ordering, will attend to these guests in a practical and caring manner, in line with company policy.  At the time of booking organisers will be asked to identify any persons attending who may require special services and the Duty Manager will ensure that all team members on duty for that specific conference or function are fully aware of guest requirements
  • Toilet accommodation includes a Part M compliant wc for wheelchair bound disabled visitors
  • Emergency exit routes from ground floor areas are via level entrances as described above
  • Emergency exit from second floor is by way of an external fire exit and is returned to ground floor level via a spiral staircase of 22 steps
  • Staff training includes instructions to assist any disabled customers in emergency egress from ground and first floor areas, in accordance with company policy.
